WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT POPE FRANCIS AS HE PLANS TO VISIT KENYA

One of the great leaders the world has witnessed is actually Pope Francis. This is due to his outstanding leadership qualities that have been demonstrated in the Roman Catholic Church. Since coming to power in 2013, Pope Francis has been spearheading immense reforms that have undoubtedly made him to be recognized as an exceptional leader. He has come out clearly to champion for proper consideration of the less fortunate in the society by encouraging people and countries to come out willingly and contribute in charitable functions.

His utmost simplicity made him come out distinctively as a leader who is ready to fully serve people. Actually, during the time he was being inaugurated to take charge of the office, he came out wearing a simple papal vestment without even putting the red shoulder cover which was contrary to his predecessors. Actually, you will be surprised that he chose to live in just a one-bedroom apartment rather than having a high stylish lifestyle.

The Pope, who actually received his name from a saint that had committed his life in serving the poor, has been on the forefront to ensure that there have been continuous amendments in relation to financial situation in the world. One of the key factors he has stressed on is for countries to try and curb the rate of corruption that is prevalent in many institutions and also to reduce the rate of extreme poverty that looms especially in the developing countries. He further states that “A little mercy makes the world less cold and just”.

As popularity of Pope Francis continues to rise, and so is his achievement. Actually from a research about nine out of ten Americans approves his leadership and above 60% of people in the world are impressed with his performance as the Catholic leader. Some of the major issues he has been able to bring about have touched on homosexuality, divorce and economic reforms for the church at large.

As the Pope is imminently planning to visit Kenya, Uganda and Central Africa Republic in November, there is hope for the faith leaders and people during his visit. For the Central African Republic, they hope that he will foster restoration of peace to the country. In his historic three-day visit to Kenya this year (from November 25th-27th), we highly anticipate that this will bring transformation in the Kenyan Catholic Church and a message of hope and unity to all the church denominations.

As I conclude, one interesting quote from Pope Francis states that “Each one of us has a vision of good and of evil. We have to encourage people to move for what they think is good.. Everyone has his own idea of good and of evil and must choose to follow the good and fight evil as he conceives them. That would be enough to make the world a better place.”
