INSPIRING STORY FROM THIS HARVARD GRADUATE WHO WAS ONCE HOMELESS

When I try to contemplate on the kind of life this lady underwent; beating all odds in order to ultimately get enrolled and graduate in the prestigious Harvard University, this is absolutely inspiring. Her name is Liz Murray. The 35-year old explains her touching story on how she and her sister used to spent hungry nights due to the fact that their parents were drug addicts and could not even care for their basic necessities.

Actually, by the age of 16 after her mother had died of AIDS and her father had left her, she had no choice but to find solace on the streets. Surviving in such extreme unfavorable condition by occasionally stealing food, what is encouraging is that she had this ardent passion and zeal to accomplish in life. This made her to commit herself in seeking knowledge from the books and encyclopedias she could find dropped in the public litter bins.

Her unquenchable resilience, commitment and determination to ultimately achieve in life were her driving force. Her efforts yielded fruits when she got the precious opportunity to join the Ivy League.

The now international inspirational speaker who is also American bestseller has been on the front line to encourage young generation to invest wisely on their time and come up with innovative ideas that can improve their lives. She stresses on the need of young generation to desist from being lured into drug abuse and irresponsible gangs.

The author of “Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness”, “My Journey from Homeless To Harvard”, and “Survival”, states that “ I have learned in my life that you really don’t know what is possible until you are already doing it” This should be a challenge that the first step you decide to take is what will determine the power that is within you to do and perform overwhelmingly great deeds than you ever imagine. It is now the time to take charge of your life and be the change you wish to see in this world!
