TIPS ON THE BEST TIME TO START PURSUING YOUR DREAMS

“…You are now a grownup who can decide can make critical decisions about your life, without necessarily obtaining permission from anyone…”  I was actually told those words by a certain officer once I obtained my identity card.  I vividly remember them each time I contemplate about what I have achieved so far and yet to be achieved. It is said that there are three things in life that you cannot recover; the words after it is said, the moment after it is missed and the time after it is gone.

I love the slogan that goes“Time Flies and so should you”. Actually we are living in turbulent times where if you cannot strategize your future plans with regard to what you want to become, with time you will engulfed by of obsolescence that will totally make you to lose your focus point. The act of being stagnant and not taking any crucial action to change your situation to a better one is one of the impeding factors that can inhibit your growth.

Have you ever asked yourself what you will have achieved or achieved by the time you are, let’s say 30 years? In case you are in your 20s this is the best time to start working out your way up to where you want to be. For instance, you want to become an accomplished renowned entrepreneur, right? Which initiatives have you pioneered so far in your home or in your college? Have you come up with extraordinary thinking perspective that you not only gained some dollars but profit? What you should know is that Rome was not built in a day, it started by a strong steady foundation.

For you to build your empire, you should start cultivating now. For instance, you can be amazed by how the CEO of Shades Systems East Africa Ltd started his entrepreneurship journey. He actually used to go to work at night shift as a cashier and during the day spend his time distributing eggs that he had bought to clients in Malindi.

Now the 31-year old youthful entrepreneur has built his empire (which he started while he was 24 years) which has stretched to over six countries and earned him numerous accolades. It is high time that we consider the essence of time, especially at our youthful age such that the future can be promising; and this will only be achievable if we decide to take action now.

Always keep in mind that “Time is free, but it is priceless. You can’t own it but you can use it. You can’t keep it but you can spend it. Once you lost it, you can never get it back!” In Swahili they say “Ujana ni moshi, ukienda hauji” (Youth is smoke: it goes and does not come). Take heed on that!
