WHY YOUR FUTURE DEPENDS ON YOUR ACTIONS TODAY

“I would wish to have a great career accomplishment, a good family, a tremendous mansion with a Bugatti parked at its parking lot with a serene environment around my vicinity…” These were the words I actually heard from an ambitious friend of mine who was trying to envision what he actually aspired to achieve. Apparently, everyone actually deserves that kind of life, right?  I read somewhere even a lazy person yearns to live a good life! But what brings the difference?  The deeds or the empty words. Are you the kind of person who is like an empty ‘debe’ (can) that makes loudest noise or are you that person who let your actions speak for you? This is an intriguing question that needs to induce an upsurge within you and make your mind sink into a state of contemplation.

The Holy Scriptures vividly points out that action speaks louder than words. Essentially, people will always judge you in relation to what you have done; the actions that you have taken to change your situation rather than basing on your vague words. Being overly verbose and blubbering words without deeds will not help in changing your situation. I personally believe that one deed can have a lasting implication due to the fact that the ultimate action will be seen and applauded by many. You may be having good intentions on how you want to undertake a particular action, right? That is a good idea. Now, what you just require is just to interconnect your intention properly with the intended action. That would be way much better!

You might be perplex to discover that quite a number of people tend to focus too much on what is right for them to do. Unfortunately, once they get the chance, they seem not to find some time to perfectly undertake the action required. This is really disappointing. What you need to understand is that the story of your life will be written with regard to the actions that you decided to take. Get into some actions today and change the course of your life. Apparently, doing nothing is one of the things that will make you obsolete. Your mind will be static and this would derail you from the path of career accomplishment.

Another thing; do you know that the element of fear plays a great role in inhibiting you from taking a particular action? Now you know! Once you allow yourself to be subdued by fear, then this ultimately results to a mental shift that will make you fail to take an action or even move a step further. This is what you need to understand; you have been bestowed the power and capability to completely overcome your fears.

Once you opt to challenge your fears, you are deemed for greatness. Don’t let fear to be the impediment that will prevent you from crossing over to the other better side. Facing your fears will make you create a great confidence within you and you will realize that ultimately the ‘fear’ will lose grip on you. This will be a door-opener to your personal freedom; free from any shackles, controls or even restrictions.

We are living in a deranged and repressed society that sometimes you can’t just wait to be motivated for you to take an action. It all starts with you. Sometimes all you need is to prompt yourself into action so that you can ultimately feel motivated to press on. Don’t let yourself to succumb to laziness. This is what I have always kept saying, “a little sleep, and a little slumber. A little folding of arms and poverty will creep into your life like an armed robber”.

Do you know what a lazy person relies upon is just expectation? A lazy person finds it hard to take an informed step of action. This makes one to wait and wait and wait. With time, all that will be encroaching is abject poverty. If you are wise enough as I deem you to be, then you should never allow yourself to reach that point. Get into action, work hard and reap the fruits of the land; even if it means starting from somewhere small rather than just idling around. Have mercy for your precious time!

It is stark truth that for you to create a formidable or an indomitable reputation, this can only and only starts if you take action first. The fact that ancient Rome still remain as historical sites with amazing sculpture emanate from the actions that those ancient people took in creating strong and lasting structures. Do you have dreams of creating a lasting legacy that people will remember you many years to come? Then, what you will just require is a clearly-defined strategy of the intended action you are bound to take to make it a reality. It is only by taking a step of action that you will discover how many great things you can highly achieve. Don’t waste the person you are by only dreaming without taking actions. Spring into action now and wake your senses up ready for greatness!

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT COMPARE YOUR SUCCESS TO THAT OF OTHERS

I remember when we were kids; there was great emphasis on comparison especially in relation to our performance in our lower grade classes.  I could hear my classmate mom (who were residing close to our vicinity) always pointing out loud, “Johnny what is wrong with you! Your performance is ever deteriorating and there is no sign of improvement. Why can’t you be like Selina (who always topping in our class and still lived close to us) who is always working so hard and becoming the best student in your class? I really don’t understand what kind of person you are!”  She would utter such sentiments with rage making Johnny to completely ‘sink’ into a state of abjection.

From the story above, this brings the big question; is there any essence or satisfaction achieved from comparing yourself with another person? I totally disagree with that act! You are completely a unique set of yourself. I read from a quote somewhere in Instagram that the odds of you being born are about 1 in 400 trillion! This can be compared to the probability of 100,000 people all winning a particular jackpot (which is exactly the same) in a lottery drawing. This is something that can barely happen; actually I guess it is almost impossible! What am I driving at?  You are completely different from any other person. The skills you possess, the experience you have gained, the aspirations that you have are completely different from what another person has.

Let’s get to the issue of success. There are great individuals out there who have made it great, right? But the real truth is that you cannot try to compare your success with what they possess. It is never right to do that. You might never know the paths and the struggle they passed through to reach there. Once you have your own definition of success, follow it; it will lead you to the right paths and destination. Comparison will make you lose focus and even try to use the tactic of “getting rich quick”, an aspect that will completely destroy your path to success.

Though you can always seek and borrow the right reference from those who have made it in life, but you cannot start comparing and imitating their lifestyles, posh cars (to the extent of even borrowing!). Ultimately, you will discover that you can’t be just like them; you are different from them. It would be wise if you can enhance your own personal growth. There is an adage that goes, ‘you have to do your own growing, no matter how tall your grandfather is”. After all, it is for your own goodness. Don’t waste that energy comparing yourself to others; it is a great inhibition for your consistent growth.

There is this example that I can try to bring about; let’s say you have this great cognitive idea that you have just formulated in your mind. You are envisioning it as a breakthrough to your success once it becomes a reality. So, what you do, you decide to share it with some of your friends, colleagues, family and even your close partners. You have great expectation that they are going to endorse this idea and even support you. But what is the response? They say your idea is insanely-defined, it doesn’t seem to be possible and it is just a waste of time trying to implement it!

How do you need to take it? If you truly believe that it can really work, don’t allow yourself to be succumbed to their opinion; just move ahead and they will later discover how credible the idea was, when you have implemented it. Actually, some even come later to say that they saw some potential in it (yet they didn’t express it at that time!) but they were a bit reluctant to concur with you.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said it is wise for every person to do his own believing rather than comparing himself or herself with others. Comparison creates a lesser person within you which would ultimately result to frustrations, dejection and even a despondent state in you.

It becomes interesting and fun when all you can focus on relies on your own real scores rather than fully shifting your attention to others. For instance, if you are in a sporting event (either a race or football) and you keep on looking at your rival’s scorecard, you might end up losing the focus to achieve what you really need to. Within you lay the greatest aspect of success or failure and it does not depend on what the other person is actually doing.

It is time for you to decide; either if you are self-driven or mass-motivated! Make an informed choice of what you would actually want to be rather than what another person wants you to be. You have to create something new for yourself; let your plans shift on creating rather than comparison. You will discover than in due time, you will create your own self and achieve that happiness you have always yearned. Get started now! If not now, when?

DOES YOUR SUCCESS RELIES ON ANOTHER PERSON'S HELP?

“Listen keenly to the words of the wise and you will go a step far; in relation to your career, family, and even success”. These were strong sentiments that were uttered by a renowned clergy when I attended a one Sunday sermon. (Sometimes spiritual nourishment is an essential component that can really rejuvenate our energy and bring great composure to our own being, right). The clergy further echoed his statements by stating “Get someone wiser than you, who can hold your hand and lead you to the right direction, the direction that is bound to make you reach your intended destination. Ultimately you will discover that you are achieving what you aspire to…”

After the service, my mind went into a state of contemplation as I tried to ‘decrypt’ the meaning of what the clergy was trying to drive at. Does this imply that for you to be successful you must be helped by another person? Do you require a strong motivational drive that will give you a great passion to achieve your dreams? What about doing it all alone; is there probability you can perfectly reach your intended destination? With all these series of mind-blowing questions crisscrossing in my mind in a concocted manner, I concluded that it is stark truth that man was not made an island; he was interact with other people, get something vital from them in order to boost his consequential success or achievement.

You will discover that in this deranged society, you actually have no capability of achieving your dreams solely by yourself. For example, if we take the leadership context; behind the success or rising of ranks of a particular leader, there are always followers who are there to support them in utmost solidarity. This can also apply to you; the more you are associated to people who have made it in life, the more you discover your mind opening up and envisioning great and marvelous things you can learn and borrow from them.

Another point for you to note; always be grateful and prompt to highly acknowledge those people who have helped you to reach where you are. You might tend to overshadow that idea but in real sense, they have contributed greatly to the success that you are currently enjoying. In my opinion, I barely believe in self-made people; after all, even that cabin driver who takes you to board your plane contribute immensely to your success; he or she ensures that the time-conscious factor is taken into account and you take your flight in time. We are actually made of hundreds, thousands and even millions of others! Woodrow Wilson was once quoted saying “ I not only use all the brain I have, but all that I can borrow.”

Besides, there is this great I heard from one of my friends; if you tend to blame others for the failures you have gone through, what about crediting others for the accomplishment you have gained? Note that behind every achiever, there are those people who have contributed to such achievement, even if it may appear as little as a pinch of salt.

My final wrap? Don’t be like a conceited person with a great possession of vain pride. It’s because you will think you are up there but not yet. A popular local song “Sijafika” (I’m not there) should inspire you to know that you can achieve top-notch success if you are assisted by other great people. Take heed on that buddy!

DOES YOUR MENTAL THINKING INFLUENCES YOUR SUCCESS?

Yesterday, I was reading an arguably great book written by Robin Sharma and could feel any better than being completely filled with incessant motivation. “Timeless Wisdom” goes the name of the book. In this amazing book, Robin Sharma tries to bring out the aspect the “Genius Inventory”. Apparently, you will discover that each one of us have been endowed with incomparable unique talents that can make us to achieve the best that we have always yearned. How can this be made possible? Only and only if we decide to invest in our own lives to the fullest.

According to research, it is believe that an average individual (in relation to the IQ level) only utilizes about 1% of his or her brain capabilities. This is about 1/100. What does this actually imply? You will discover that we only use a small portion and yet there are great discoveries that have been made. A certain respected scholar once said that we possess the ability of learning and memorizing close to 40 different languages, undertake a number of degree courses in our colleges and even master the entire encyclopedia from A to Z! Isn’t this incredible? Indeed it is!

But what is the setback to achieving this? Most of us see this as impossible and thus we may neither commit time nor attention to achieving this. This is what brings out the difference between those people who achieve self-actualization and those complaining of not having adequate time to accomplish ‘unthinkable’ things. Most of us tend to think that we cannot reach such great heights; a fallacy created within our minds.

For you to unlock your mental capabilities and rejuvenate the inner drive to achieving success, you got to change the way you think. Change has to come within you. Your mental boost and mastery will always keep you going. It is also crucial to identify what always brings you down or drain your ability to achieving what you are destined for. One such weakness thing is consistent worry about your future life. You will forge ahead only and only if you identify what has been pulling you back and find means of tackling it in the best way possible. So it would be critical if you can live in the present era and consistently work for a better future; all things will happen for your goodness in due time.

Our lives revolve around different phases; this can be in relation to our spiritual or religious conformity, our profession and the most crucial one being our personal lives. We can only get a balance and full satisfaction from all these phases if we allow our minds to identify what is best for us, what can enlighten our spirits and what can improve our lives.

I wish to conclude with a statement said by one of the great philosopher from India named Patanjali. He actually said, “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all of your thoughts break their bonds: your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a great new wonderful world…and talents become alive and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” It is time for you to engage your mind into thinking so that you can become the person you were meant to be, will you?

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT WASTE TIME ON GRABBING OPPORTUNITY

Are you an opportunity grabber or a type of individual who waits only to realize that such opportunities have slipped away? You need to understand that we are living in a super-fast era where there are no traces of isle chances lying there for you. You got to act. You got to
take a step. This can only be achieved through grabbing or seizing such precious chances as they come.

For instance, your company could be conducting an imminent internal recruitment. You have what it takes in terms of qualifications to apply for that top post available. But what happens? Some of us tend to feel ‘comfortable ‘with our current status quo and even don’t go ahead to apply for that post. Ultimately, only regrets will follow be part of you when that post has been grabbed. Every new opportunity is always bound to open great doors for you to rise up the corporate ladder. If you really want to experience consistent growth in your career, build a great chain of network and experience personal development, then never hesitate to seize that chance as it comes.

A few months ago, I attended a graduation ceremony where there were more than 8000 graduands being awarded with different degrees. After the ceremony, you could actually expect a rigorous job hunt exercise from the entire group. Actually, opportunities presented before them may be scarce. But those equipped with the capability of grabbing such arising opportunities will always have an upper hand. Herbert Pronchnow once said that he who slows down or hesitate will actually miss the green light; he might end up getting bumped in the rear and thus lose the parking space. If you can’t grab a chance as quick as possible, you might end up becoming irrelevant in this fast-paced society.

Let’s take another example of a game match. If you are an ardent game player or fan there is great aspect of grabbing chances while playing any game. For instance, in soccer, when a player has received a superb pass just close to the opponent’s goal, he or she is required to make a quick strike and make a score. A few seconds of delay would actually result to the opponents grabbing the ball from him or her and this may cost the attacking team dearly. Life simply works that way. There is always constant call for actions and those who respond quickly will vanquish.  Every time an opportunity itches, scratch it!

Have you ever asked yourself why successful investors, businesspeople and prominent leaders always succeed? This is because they know the secret. For instance, Warren Buffett remains to be one of the successful investors of all times since he perfectly understands the aspect of grabbing any arising investment opportunity. Same happens to many prominent entrepreneurs like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.

How can you also grab such opportunities?  This is by being already prepared each time they present themselves. Be ready to stand up and take note of any opportunity; scrutinize it, gauge it up and then make an informed choice or decision. Don’t let it go with the hope of ‘expecting’ another better one. There is a say that goes a bad in the hand is worth than ten in the bush. Get it and work on it. As time goes by, you will have a reason to smile for the great decision you made in taking the chance!
