2016 HAPPY NEW YEAR'S NUGGETS OF INSPIRATION

New Year Greetings! It is unfortunate and yet inevitable that the vacation period is almost getting close to an edge. As we usher in this promising year, I feel inclined to give you some nuggets of inspiration that I hopefully believe will guide you throughout this year.

First, it has been a milestone journey through the past year and there are quite a number of rigorous activities that have taken place; ranging from graduations, job promotions, spiritual convictions and vocations, family responsibilities, career upgrade and deviations, matrimonial activities and exchange of vows at the aisle and new business setups by innovative entrepreneurs. This includes also getting your first stable job and smiling all the way to the bank.

Now, it is yet another new year 2016. What are your aspirations, your dreams and your objectives for this year? This is a year of fulfillment and achieving what you were unable to acquire in the just ended year. You have previously missed some shots in your career and lost some great opportunities. Just like Michael Jordan once stated that he failed over and over again, for this year let yourself learn from your past mistake and come out as strong as a conqueror.

Here are some of the major points I would love to share with you as we embark on this great year:

1. Let what your are enthusiastic about be your driving force
A certain author once stated that you cannot deliver goods if your heart is heavier than the load. This distinctively implies that you should not let yourself be swayed by continuously doing something you dislike. This is a year of change and transformation. By doing what you love, you can be able to “move mountains” that seemed really dormant. Steve Jobs once stated that you got do find what you love doing and that will be a breakthrough to your success.

Charles Kingsley was once quoted saying “We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about.” Apparently, life will bring out a new zest with deeper interest and meaning when we choose to do something the heart loves.

2. Seize the opportunity as it comes
This is whether it is a job opportunity (especially for the job seekers), job promotion and even development of your career. It is clear that Rome was not built in a day and thus for you to rise up the corporate ladder you really have to start from somewhere. Someone once said that today is the future from which you expected so much in the past. The ideal time will never come.

Thus it would be prudent if you live for today and seize each opportunity that comes by. Do not let your disheartening past intrigue your future. Thus by doing the best this time, it would ultimately put you a notch higher in another moment in future. John Burroughs once stated, “…the man who will not execute his resolutions when they are fresh on him can have no hope from them afterwards; they will be dissipated, lost and perished in the hurry and scurry of the world and sunk in the slough of indolence…”

3.  Exercise kindness through molding or helping others
It is always clear that as you stretch out a helping hand, much is always bestowed unto you. There is this belief that the more you become philanthropic in your deeds and in provision of charity to the less fortunate, the more you open door of blessings to your business. It is true that each person offers the world with an opportunity to serve.

As one singer once stated “Man is not an island”, everyone requires assistance from someone else. Actually, you will absolutely feel some sought of fulfillment and happy as you help others. In the Bible, Jesus once said, “…He that is greatest among you shall be your servant.” Let this be one of your agenda in 2016!

4. Intend to do something innovative for yourself
This is most inclined to upcoming entrepreneurs! Apparently, you will realize that everything that we are actually enjoying came from nothing. It was the sharp and ingenious minds of entrepreneurs and innovators that brought the goodies that we are actually enjoying. As an entrepreneur this is a great challenge for you.

First, it is about doing what you can, using the resources that you have in the place that you are; the rest shall then be added unto you. You really got to put your idea into reality and believe you me; it will be door opener to your success.

As I conclude, Clint Brown once stated, “The world will always give you an opportunity to quit but only the world would call quitting an opportunity.” Thus it all depends on you and for you to win, all you need is to stand up and get counted. This is a year of blessing! March like an armed soldier in a battlefield and ultimately you will say, “Yes I did it!”
